Our Audiology Services
At Elevate Health & Therapeutic Services, we provide audiological services for pediatric–starting at 6 months of age–and adult populations. The following services are offered.
Audiological Evaluations
An audiological evaluation is a series of tests completed by our audiologists to determine the type, degree, and configuration of hearing loss. Tests completed during the evaluation may include:
Puretone testing - evaluation of the softest tones one can hear at different pitches. For children, this testing may be completed using Conditioned Play Audiometry or Visual Reinforcement Audiometry.
Speech testing - evaluation of speech perception abilities
Otoscopy - examination of the ear canal
Tympanometry - examination of the eardrum and middle ear space
Otoacoustic emissions testing - tests the function of cells in the hearing organ (cochlea)
Other tests as needed
The goal of this evaluation is to determine if hearing loss is present and develop a treatment plan to improve communication abilities.
Central Auditory Processing Evaluations
During a central auditory processing evaluation, a battery of tests will be administered to evaluate the auditory processing abilities of someone suspected to have a central auditory processing disorder (CAPD). Part of this evaluation includes the testing completed in an audiological evaluation. This evaluation will allow for the diagnosis of CAPD, if warranted, and intervention strategies will be discussed
Hearing Aid Services
We offer entry level and high-end digital hearing aid technology in a variety of styles. Patients and their family members will be provided extensive counseling on the use and care of their hearing aids. Programming will be verified to ensure maximum benefit. Follow-up hearing aid services are offered to help maintain the lifespan of the hearing aids.
Appointment types include Hearing Aid Evaluation (select hearing aid make/model and take impressions of ears, if necessary), Hearing Aid Orientation (counseling on the use and care of your new hearing aids & programming/verification of the hearing aids), and Hearing Aid Follow-up.
Custom Earmolds
We create custom earmolds for hearing aids, hearing protection (earplugs), swim plugs, and communication monitoring devices. They are molded to fit the size and shape of your ears.
Hearing Assistive Technology
We offer DM system (formerly FM system) and remote microphone setup, maintenance, and training services. This technology can be used at school, work, or home to help hear a speaker better in background noise.
